Tilapia-a freshwater fish that inhabiting shallow ponds,rivers.It have very low levels of mercury as they are fast-growing, lean and short-lived, with a primarily vegetarian diet, so do not accumulate mercury found in prey. They are low in saturated fats, calories, carbohydrates and sodium, and are a good protein source. They also contain the micronutrients posporous,niacin,selenium,vitamin B12, and potassium.
Sarciado -means thick sauce,usually we use tomatoes to thicken and make our sauce tasteful.
Here's our recipe.;
Ingredients:
1 kilo fresh tilapia
1 tbsp olive oil
2 gloves garlic crushed
1 medium onion chopped
3 fresh tomatoes chopped
1 cup chicken broth
3 pcs fresh eggs,bitten
salt and pepper to taste
oil for frying fish
Procedure:
1. Clean and take off scales ,gills,intestines and organs of tilapia,wash in running water,season with salt and pepper.Set aside.
2.Heat the frying pan, put oil and fry tilapia until become golden brown color.Check 5minutes each both sides for medium fire.Fry the rest of tilapia.Set aside.
3.In a other pan,heat the oil and sautee garli,onion and tomatoes.
4.Add eggs and stir quickly until becom fluffy.
5.Pour chicken broth and tilapia and simmer for about 5 minutes.Season with salt and pepper.
6.Serve in a serving dish and serve with steamed rice.Enjoy!
