Filipina teen crowned Miss Heritage 2014 watch the video on youtube

MISS Filipinas 2014 Odessa Mae Tadaya bested delegates from 42 countries and territories from around the world to win the second edition of Miss Heritage pageant held recently in Johannesburg, South Africa. The 18-year-old, student of Tourism Management at the University of Baguio, was crowned by last year’s title-holder Shequera Grace King of Bahamas.

Started in Zimbabwe in 2012 by the Miss Heritage Foundation Organization, the African-based beauty contest is more than beauty and talent as it is centered in the promotion of how to safeguard world heritage. Each delegate will act as ambassador for sustainable development and advancement of universal heritage.
Odessa’s court of honor includes First Runner-up, Miss Saint Vincent and Grenadies Anna La Borde; 2nd Runner-up Miss Botswana Katlego Gaotsenelelwe, 3rd Runner-up Miss South Africa Kgomotso Caroline Angel Pilane; and 4th Runner-up Miss Australia Jennifer Hunt.
Miss Ghana Zina Asiedu was named Miss Heritage Africa; Miss India Avneet Kuar Arora was Miss Heritage Asia; Miss Belgium Jennifer Den Haese was Miss Heritage Europe, and Miss Ecuador was Miss Heritage America. Special awardees were Heritage Cuisine Queen Miss Netherlands Joyce Jansen and Ludo-Diversity Queen was Miss Rwanda Marlene Mutoniwase.
Odessa, who won the Miss Filipinas 2014 in March 2014 to earn the right to compete in Miss Heritage 2014 (formerly Miss Heritage World), trained under Kagandahang Flores beauty queen maker. The 5-foot-7, native of Guimba, Nueva Ecija, loves reading and watching movies and dreamed of being a beauty queen as a little girl. She is an active supporter of the Ant-bullying act of the Philippines.
“Learning about our heritage is important in knowing who we really are as Filipinos.  Our history is the key to our future and whatever in our past has an impact to our future.  So we should be more careful on what we do today because it will affect our future,” said the country’s newest international winner.
