A church leader is convinced that majority of Pilipino Catholics are still against the use of contraceptives despite a recent survey that show Catholics follow church doctrines except those on contraception. And Lipa Archbishop Arguelles believe Pilipino Catholics are against contraceptives not because of their religion. Arguelles was commenting on a global survey which said Pilipino Catholics supports the teachings of the church on abortion, divorce, same-sex marriage but are opposed to it's anti-contraception stance. He admitted that some Pilipinos are having hard time following God's Laws. The Catholic Church ha been opposing the Reproductive Health (RH) Law convinced that it's anti-life and anti-family due to it's promotion of artificial contraceptives among others. The church is for natural family planning. Arguelles said the reported rise in young Pilipinos engaging in premarital sex shouldn't be used to justify the use of contraceptives. Meanwhile the church urged television networks to stop airing condom advertisements on televisions. "Make more commercials that promote social and moral values." said by Fr. Castro, executive secretary of the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Family and Life. Castro lamented that the ads on contraceptives are allowed on televisions and radio despite the Supreme Court's suspension order in the implementation of the controversial Reproductive Health Law.
