The Dept. of Foreign Affairs said on Saturday that the Yemeni Pres. Abdo Rabbo Mansour Haddi has conveyed condolences for the death of 7 Pilipinos in a terrorist attack in Yemen. The DFA said the letter of the Yemeni president also expressed regret on the incident. President Hadi likewise condemned the terrorist attack at the Yemeni Defense Ministry Hospital. 7 Pilipinos were killed in a terrorist attack at the Yemeni Defense Ministry Hospital in Yemen on Dec. 5, 2013. The DFA said reports revealed that a group from Al Qaeda claimed responsible over the incident. The Dept. of Foreign Affairs has already raised the crisis alert level in Yemen to Alert Level 3 from Alert Level 1 last Dec. 9. At Alert Level 3, those who would like to be repatriated voluntarily will be assisted by the government. The Philippine government had declared crisis Alert Level 1 in Yemen on Oct. 8, 2012 due to the internal disturbance in the said country. At this alert level the Dept. of Labor and Employment is also called to impose total deployment ban.
