Sunken Ship in Bohol Creates Oil Spill

Philippine Coast Guard reported this Thursday that an oil spill believe to have come to a sunken ship M/V Wilcon were seen in Bohol, they said that a presence of oil sheen had been spotted 3 nautical miles from the shoreline of Brgy. Poblacion in Bohol. The Philippine Coast Guard had already dispatched its marine environmental protection unit to survey on the oil spill and its source. They also admitted that the source of the oil spill has yet to be determined in waters off Bohol but one of their suspect is the underwater sunken vessel of M/V Wilcon. The history of M/V Wilcon is that its a cargo vessel that caught fire in 1994 and sank near the shores of Bohol.   post signature
