Pacman for Senator?

After he has proven himself in Congress, Saranggani Rep. Manny Pacquiao is now ripe to become a senator of the land, Vice President Jejomar C. Binay said on Thursday. Binay said Pacquiao whom he called a hero, has proven that he is no “laughing stock” in the House of Representatives.
Alam mo, nu’ng naging congressman ‘yan, pinagtatawanan. Napakita nu’ng tao ‘yung kanyang kakayahan (He was a laughing stock when he ran for Congress. But he has proven his worth,” Binay said in a radio interview.
The Vice President, however, clarified that the eight division world boxing champion and playing coach of the Kia Sorento in the Philippine Basketball Association has yet to agree on his offer for him to run for senator under the banner of the United Nationalist Alliance.
Pacquiao fresh from his win against inexperienced Chris Algieri last Sunday in Macau, paid a courtesy call on the Vice President and his son Makati Mayor Jejomar Erwin Binay Jr. at the Makati City Hall on Thursday.
The Vice President claimed that there is a “strong clamor” from Filipinos especially in Mindanao for Pacquiao to run for senator.

Binay  also dismissed talks that he is eyeing Pacquiao as his running mate, noting that the boxing icon is “underage” for the position.”
Having born on December 17, 1978, Pacquiao will only be 37 by May 2016, three years short the age requirement for presidential or vice presidential candidates of at least 40 years of age on the day of election.
