Dept. of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday released the identity of the Pilipina abducted by armed men at a beach resort in Sabah, Malaysia. In an official statement Dept. of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Jose said Marcelita M. Dayawan 40 yr. old and staff member at the Singamata Resort off Borneo island in Sabah was abducted y still unidentified armed men on Wednesday evening on the resort along with a 29 yr. old Chinese tourist. Philippine Ambassador to Malaysia J. Malaya has dispatched an Embassy official to Sabah to confirm the kidnapping incident. Jose said the DFA representative in Malaysia has contacted Dayawan's family to extend consular assistance. Malaysian security forces have reportedly launched rescue operations and were checking getaway routes that the kidnappers may have used.
