Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has grounded 5 Mayamy Trans Corp. buses after being involved in an accident in Quezon City last Saturday that injured at least 11 people. LTFRB on Wednesday issued a 30 day preventive suspension order against Mayamy Trans Corp. after one of its buses rammed into 8 vehicles along Commonwealth Ave. last Saturday. The buses covered by the preventive suspension order ply the Norzagaray, Bulacan to Baclaran route. The LTFRB also ordered Mayamy buses to undergo road worthiness checks at the Motor Vehicle Inspection Center of the Land Transportation Office and its bus drivers and conductors to undergo compulsory drug testing and road safety seminar. The LTFRB also instructed Mayamy Trans Corp. to explain in writing why it's certificate of public convenience and necessity shouldn't be revoked following the accident. The Board will summon Mayamy Trans Corp. operators in a hearing on March 18, 2014.
