Pres. Aquino witnesses the exchange of documents between FFCCCII Foundation, Inc. represented by it's President Dr. Alfonso Siy and the Provincial Government of Leyte represented by Gov. Petilla at the Rizal Hall in Malacanang on Feb. 5, 2014. The 2 sides earlier signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the construction of houses and schools for the victims of the Super Typhoon Yolanda. Also on hand to witness the event were DILG Sec. Roxas, FFCCCII Chairman Dr. Tan and Energy Sec. Petilla. A Filipino Chinese Friendship Village is set to rise in Palo, Leyte with the help of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) and FFCCCII Foundation ,Inc. in partnership with the Leyte provincial government. The signing of ceremony of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the FFCCCII and the Leyte provincial government was held yesterday in Malacanang Palace. PNoy personally thanked the members of FFCCCII and FFCCCII Foundation, Inc. for their efforts. The projects calls for the construction of 500 houses in a 5 hectare lot in Brgy. Barayong, Palo, Leyte worth Php 40 Million as well as 5 units of barrio schools equivalent to 10 classrooms, amounting to Php 2 Million. The president likewise thanked the FFCCCII for it's efforts in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Yolanda noting the 50,000 relief packs distributed to the Super Typhoon Yolanda victims as well as welding sets, fishing boats, water purifying systems and medicine amounting to close to Php 150 Million. Despite the strong opposition from Hong Kong officials the largest charity organization in China pushed through with it's relief mission to the areas in Visayas region that were severely devastated by Super Typhoon Yolanda last year. A total of HK$ 2 Million around Php 11.68 Million worth of humanitarian aid financed by Hong Kong's Disaster Relief Fund were recently distributed by representatives of Amity foundation to affected families in the remote towns of Ajuy, Batad and San Dionisio, Ilo-ilo.
