The number of distressed Pilipino workers abroad has declined dramatically, but the Dept. of Labor and Employment said it has no plans to reduce the number of it's officials overseas. In a statement issued over the weekend, Labor Sec. Baldoz said the number of distressed workers has dropped from 12,515 to only 687 in it's Pilipino Workers Resources Centers at the end of 2013. Most of the remaining workers are from the Middle East. Baldoz attributed the decline to the quick disposition of their welfare cases
