People carry an injured devotee during the annual religious procession of the Miraculous Black Nazarene on Jan. 9, 2014 . Several devotees were injured while others fell ill during the Translacion procession of the Feast of the Miraculous Black Nazarene on Thursday. 359 of the patients got minor injuries, 252 suffered from high blood pressure attacks and 4 others were rushed into the hospital. Most devotee become unconscious due to exhaustion during the Translacion while 6 others got punctured. One devotee suffers also an asthma attack, while others complained of headache. At least 23 people suffered from abrasion, 10 suffered from laceration and 6 became dizzy and 1 suffers from contusion or bruise. Philippine Red Cross advised the devotees to drink plenty of water to avoid being ill. They also advise to observe safety tips released by the Philippine Red Cross earlier such as eating candy or crackers to alleviate exhaustion.
