Malacanang is unfazed by plunder complaint field against PNoy for the alleged misuse of the Malampaya gas fund, citing presidential immunity. Coloma however admitted that it was difficult to tackle the plunder charges against the president since they haven't seen the contents of the complaint. Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas has reportedly filed a plunder case against the president and 12 others before the Office of the Ombudsman in connection with the alleged irregular use of the Malampaya Gas funds. Also charged were Budget and Management Sec. Abad, Agrarian Reform Sec. Delos Reyes and the alleged Pork Barrel Queen Janet Lim Napoles. Malacanang earlier assured that Php 137 Billion Malampaya funds remain intact but this time promised to look into reforms on how to properly manage the billions of resources. Under Pres. Decree 1234, Malampaya royalties and other similar funds are treated as a Special Accounts in the general fund. The Malampaya funds can be used only for energy related project.
