The weather bureau recorded the coldest morning in Metro Manila and City of Baguio on Sunday at 19.2 degrees Celsius and 9.6 degrees Celsius respectively. Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) said the temperature dropped to 19.2 degrees Celsius at around 6 am at the Science Garden Station in Quezon City on Sunday. The latest temperature data is so far the lowest recorded this year, matching the reading on Jan. 1, 2014. The country's summer capital Baguio City also recorded it's coldest day yet with a temperature of 9.6 degrees Celsius at around 5:30 am Sunday. The country will continue to experience a drop in temperature as North East Monsoon reaches it's peak by the last week of January until the first week of February. The forecast temperature range in Metro Manila from Jan. 13 to 16 is between 20 degrees and 30 degrees Celsius. For the same period, the range in Baguio City will be between 10 degrees and 20 degrees Celsius. Based on PAG-ASA data the lowest temperature recorded in Baguio City was 6.3 degrees Celsius on Jan. 18, 1961. The coldest day in Metro Manila was registered twice on Feb. 4, 1987 and Dec. 30, 1988 at 15.1 degrees Celsius.
