As announced by the Japanese Ministry of Defense, Japan will mobilize nearly 1,200 soldiers , three warships , 10 planes and six helicopters to participate in the relief operations in the Philippines after the devastation caused to the country by the powerful hurricane.
Approximately 1,170 members of the Japanese forces will provide medical support services, quarantine and transportation equipment to the affected areas, while ten others are based on the Manila to coordinate rescue operations in the Philippines and other countries.
In airplanes which would send Japan troop of seven C-130H, two transport airplanes fuel KC-767 airplane and a multipurpose support U-4.
Japan was originally sent Tuesday 50 servicemen in a first-aid doctors and had made prior transfer companies announced Wednesday that it is ready to send up to 1,000 troops in the Philippines.
It is the first time Japanese soldiers tread again Leyte island , one of the biggest battlefields of World War II in the Pacific counterattack the U.S. forces in 1944.
Assistance to the Philippines will be the largest relief operation they have ever made outside the armed forces of Japan, although they had already contributed to efforts in previous disasters in Asia, such as the 2004 tsunami in the Indian Ocean.
