The Danish pharmaceutical company Lundbeck has made a breakthrough in the fight against alcoholism after drug manufacturers which effectively treated alcoholism. The drug called Selincro and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) recommended in the European Union (EU) to Friday, December 14, 2012 to release the drug in all EU countries
The European Commission is expected to take the licensing decision within two to three months so quite possibly the Selincro is toward the beginning of spring in pharmacies in Europe.
There are other drugs treatment of alcoholism, but the difference is that the Selincro is taken in tablet form according to the needs of each user, while the other drugs fight alcoholism must be taken continuously for long periods of time with a view to achieving abstinence from alcohol.
According to surveys submitted to the European Commission or company Lundbeck, a total sample of 400 alcoholic patients from Europe, it seemed clear that the Selincro managed to significantly reduce the average consumption of alcohol per patient and the number of days the patient gets drunk.
